Ilias Ali’s wife finally allowed to go abroad

Star Online Report

BNP leader M Ilias Ali’s wife Tahsina Rushdir Luna was allowed to fly for London this morning one hour after she was again barred by the immigration officers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka.
“I was barred at the immigration point of the airport around 9:30am but one hour later they allowed me to travel,” Luna told The Daily Star.
Earlier on Sunday, Luna, a deputy registrar at Dhaka University, was scheduled to go to London with her two other children on a Biman Bangladesh flight, but the immigration officers at the airport obstructed her without any reason.

The High Court on Monday ordered the authorities concerned to allow her to go to the UK to attend her son's graduation ceremony after hearing a petition filed by her challenging the legality of the obstruction put on her.

BNP Organising Secretary Ilias Ali, also a former lawmaker from Sylhet, along with his driver, went missing from the capital's Banani area around midnight on April 17, 2012.

His party claims the government agencies had a hand behind his disappearance.
