‘Vision 2030’: BNP fails to invite AL
BNP has failed to hand over its invitation card to Awami League general secretary for attending a press conference to be arranged for unveiling the party’s “Vision 2030”.
Khaleda Zia, chairperson of BNP, will unveil the “Vision 2030” through the press conference at Dhaka's Westin Hotel on May 10.
BNP will present [before the nation] what the party will do if it is voted to power and how it wants to see Bangladesh in 2030, according to party leaders.
A three-member delegation of BNP led by its Assistant Organising Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul went to Awami League Chief Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi office but failed to hand over the invitation card.
“We went to the office around 5:15 pm based on the schedule of Quader’s assistant personal secretary but could not hand over the invitation card as no one was available there at that time,” Babul said.
Senior political leaders, civil society members and dignitaries from different professions are expected to attend the function, he said.
Khaleda meets standing committee members
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia held a meeting with the party’s national standing committee members at her Gulshan office to finalise the “Vision 2030”.
The meeting began around 9:40pm with Khaleda Zia in the chair, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP chairperson’s media wing told The Daily Star.
Dr Mahbubulla, a professor of Dhaka University, attended the meeting.
