Govt wants to box divergence: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today alleged the ruling Awami League wants to cling to state power by boxing dissenting voices and keeping its opponents away.

“If it happens, there will be no existence of the country,” Fakhrul said while addressing a discussion at Mohanagar Natya Mancha in Dhaka this afternoon.

Claiming that the prime minister has attempted to divide BNP, but failed, Fakhrul said BNP men have been subjected to relentless repression and oppression for the last 10 years.

“Despite such, the prime minister has failed to split BNP,” he added.
