DU pro-BNP female teachers denied permission to meet Khaleda

Some pro-BNP female teachers of Dhaka University (DU) today were denied permission to meet BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who is now in old central jail in Dhaka.

 A 25-member delegation including Prof Dr Tajmeri S Islam, Prof Noasrin, Prof Tahmina Akter Tafi and Dr Laila Nur Islam went to the jail gate to provide some foods and fruits to the former prime minister around 12:00pm, Prof Dr Tajmeri S Islam told The Daily Star.

Police barred them at the jail gate and asked whether they took permission from the jail authorities.

As they did not take prior permission, two professors went to the office of the Inspector General (IG) of Prisons and submitted a prayer to the effect, Prof Tajmeri said.

But they were eventually not granted permission.
