Don’t spread lies over Khaleda’s London trip: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called upon Awami League leaders not to confuse people by spreading falsehood over Khaleda Zia’s London tour.
“Even a foolish will not believe that Khaleda Zia has fled the country and she would not return home. Don’t tell a lie and confuse people spreading such falsehood,” Fakhrul said.
He came up with the call while addressing a programme at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in Dhaka this afternoon, a day after AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader expressed his doubt whether Khaleda Zia would return home from London.
The BNP leader reiterated his party’s call to the government to hold talks with political parties to resolve the prevailing political impasse over the supportive government ahead of the 11th parliamentary election.
“Time is still adequate in your (govt) hands. Hold talks, otherwise you won’t be able to flee,” Fakhrul said stressing the need for holding the next general election under a non-partisan administration.
Mentioning that no fair election is possible to be held under supervision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Fakhrul said his party has been demanding for supportive government based on its previous experience in this regard.
