Workers’ Party President Rashed Khan Menon yesterday said the government’s decision to increase the fuel price ahead of the next national election is nothing but insanity.

A new political alliance comprising of seven political parties was formed in the capital yesterday. The alliance named “Ganatantra Mancho”, has been formed to bring about a change in the current political situation of the country, JSD president ASM Abdur Rob announced at a press conference in Dhaka.

An anti-government alliance comprising of seven political parties has been formed with a specific goal of “anti-government movement”.

The fresh hike in fuel prices, especially diesel, has left the country’s people in serious miseries. But the government is least bothered.

The fuel prices were abruptly increased by almost 50 percent last night (Friday night). It’s like rubbing salt in our wounds.

The decision to increase fuel price by more than 51 percent is ruthless and unprece-dented.
