Following a court order, the Election Commission is set to grant registration to a new political party -- Trinamool BNP.Election Commissioner Md Alamgir yesterday said the Appellate Division recently ordered to provide registration to the party.

Ziaul Haque Mridha, a former JP lawmaker, submitted the petition through his lawyer Helal Uddin yesterday asking the apex court to prohibit GM Quader from performing party activities.

To observe the day of mourning, the peace rally programme of Dhaka City (north) unit Awami League has been postponed," reads a press release of the AL unit, signed by William Proloy Samaddar, its office secretary.
