Justice Khairul new Law Commission chairman
ABM Khairul Haque
The government on Tuesday appointed former chief justice ABM Khairul Haque as chairman of the Law Commission.
Appointed for the next three years, Justice Khairul will enjoy the status, benefits and facilities of the chief justice.
Close sources to the justice said he will join the office Wednesday morning.
The post of the Law Commission chairman fell vacant after its last chairman justice MA Rashid, a retired High Court judge, resigned on October 7, 2010.
Later, the government appointed law commission member Prof M Shah Alam as its acting chairman.
