Shah Ali Rocky, 28, was a jhut (garment leftover) trader, Enamul Haque Khandakar, a sub-inspector (SI) of Pallabi Police Station, told The Daily Star. Five miscreants attacked Rocky with sharp weapons when he was walking near his residence in Mirpur-7 around 10:45am, the police officer said quoting locals. Critically injured, Rocky was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him "brought dead", the SI said. The victim might have been killed following a rivalry over jhut business, he added.
