A Dhaka court yesterday sent actor Nusraat Faria to jail in connection with an attempted murder case linked to the July uprising.

The Election Commission identified 586 citizens with two National Identity cards and resolved the issue by cancelling their second NIDs recently, said its NID Wing Director General ASM Humayun Kabir yesterday.

The victim is Shahin Mia, 35.

The detainees were identified as Md Ilyas, 30, Nur Mohammad, 61, and Abdul Shakkur, 40. All are residents of the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhiya

The accused, Jewel Khan, 35, of Rampur village in Shalikha upazila of Magura, is a prime accused in the murder of easy-bike driver Al-Amin in 2021
