BUFT Leo Club organises blood donation programme
The Leo Club of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) organised a blood donation programme on January 20, 2026, at the university’s Multipurpose Hall as part of its social responsibility initiatives.
The programme was held in collaboration with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and drew wide participation from faculty members, officers, staff and students, says a press release.
The initiative focused on promoting voluntary blood donation and raising awareness about the need for regular and safe blood supply for patients. The organisers said the strong turnout reflected the BUFT community’s commitment to humanitarian service.
Present at the programme were Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT; Mohammed Nasir, Member of the Board of Trustees; Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Adviser of BUFT; Md. Alamgir Hossain, Acting Vice-Chancellor of BUFT; Md. Rafiquzzaman, Registrar of BUFT; Mohammad Imtiaj, Director of Public Relations of BUFT; Shahana Zafor, Director of the Blood Programme of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society; Zahidur Rahman, Deputy Director; Md. Majibur Rahman, Director of Planning and Development of BUFT; Sabbir Ahmed Abir, Adviser of the Leo Club; members of the club; and officials of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.
The guests commended the Leo Club of BUFT and the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society for organising the programme and emphasised the importance of youth-led initiatives in supporting public health and community welfare.
