Muhidul Islam new chairman of BIWTA

The government has appointed Md Muhidul Islam, an additional secretary to the Ministry of Shipping, as the new chairman of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA).

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding the appointment today.

Muhidul Islam will replace Rear Admiral Arif Ahmed Mostafa, the current chairman of BIWTA.

According to ministry sources, Arif Ahmed Mostafa will return to the Bangladesh Navy following the change in leadership.

The appointment takes immediate effect, according to the notification.
