Day 10 of 'strict lockdown': 791 arrested for defying rules in Dhaka

Police have arrested 791 people for defying Covid-19 restrictions and health guidelines in Dhaka today.

Iftekhairul Islam, additional deputy commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed this information.

With the latest arrests, at least 6,538 people have been arrested in the capital since the lockdown began on July 1.

Mobile courts fined 212 people Tk 1.64 lakh today, while DMP's traffic division fined 361 vehicles Tk 9.45 lakh.
