Worker beaten to death inside factory in Dhaka

A worker was beaten to death inside a factory in Dhaka's Tejgaon area early today.

The deceased was identified as Hashem Mia, 60, a security guard of Jewel Industries in Kunipara area.

Hashem's co-workers found him unconscious in the room he used to live in, on the first floor of the factory around 8:00am.

They rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, Jhontu Mia, one of Hashem's fellow workers said.

There were injury marks on Hashem's head and other parts of the body. The killers beat him with iron roads and ransacked the room, Jhontu said.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
