Woman arrested for abetting, 3 accused on remand for gang-rape of teenager
A woman was arrested in a case filed over abduction and gang-rape of a teenager in Dhaka's Lalbagh area.
Dalia alias Dina (27) was arrested from Lalbagh area last night for abetting the rape, Khandaker Helal Uddin, inspector (Investigation) of Lalbagh Police Station, told The Daily Star.
Meanwhile, a Dhaka court today placed three accused arrested yesterday on a two-day remand each after Lalbagh police produced them before it, seeking seven day remand for four accused including the woman.
The three are: Monir Hossain Shuvo (22), a third-year BBA student; Al-Amin alias Billal; and Sabuj.
The court ordered to send Dina to jail, rejecting the remand prayer.
Victim's father filed the case with Lalbagh Police Station early today, accusing the four.
The inspector said the victim arrived in Dhaka's Sadarghat from Patuakhali on February 12 when Shuvo received her and took her to Dina's house, where she was raped.
She was taken to Al-Amin's house in Mugda the next day where Shuvo and two others raped her, he said quoting the case statement.
Earlier, the girl told police that she was confined, drugged and raped several times in between February 12 and 16.
The girl was left at TSC area on February 16 from where she was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
