Teen arrested in connection with gang-rape of 5th grader in Narsingdi

A teenager was arrested today in connection with the gang-rape of a fifth grader in Narsingdi's Raipura upazila.

A total of five teenagers were accused in the case filed by the victim's father with Raipura Police Station last night, our correspondent reports quoting the station's Sub-Inspector (SI) Deb Dulal Dey.

Quoting the written complaint SI Dulal said the victim's maternal cousin contacted the girl and took her to an abandoned poultry farm near her house on August 16.

All five accused including the main accused who is a tenth grader then raped the girl there, the SI said.

Officer-in-Charge of Raipura Police Station, Golam Mostafa told The Daily Star that the case is being investigated.

Police are trying to arrest the other accused in the incident, he added.
