One killed as 3 of a family stabbed in Badda, 3 held

A man was stabbed to death today in Dhaka's Badda area after an argument between two shop owners about cleaning trash. Two of his brothers were also injured in the incident.

Police have detained three of a family in this regard.

The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam (30). The injured brothers are Al-Amin Babu (18) and Sahabuddin Sabu (14).

The detainees are Jewel (50) and his two sons Samiul (26) and Abul Khair (17).

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Badda Police Station Abu Sayeed said that Saiful Islam and Jewel got into an argument over cleaning up garbage behind their shops. Saiful's two brothers and Jewel's two sons were also present there.

At one point, Saiful slapped Jewel, and later, three brothers were stabbed with a scissor by Abul Khair, said the OC.

Locals rushed the three injured to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Saiful dead, the OC said.

"We have detained Jewel and his sons, and an investigation is underway," added the OC.

In-Charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost, Inspector Bacchu Mia, said that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy. The condition of the two injured brothers is critical. They are receiving treatment in the emergency department.
