Man to walk gallows for killing woman

A Thakurgaon court yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing a woman in 2012.

The convict, Mofijul Islam, 33, was also fined Tk 1 lakh.

District and Sessions Judge Mamunur Rashid delivered the verdict.

Mofijul was accused of stabbing his neighbour Jasna Begum, 23, to death in front of her children after the victim refused to have an affair with him.
