Man detained after wife’s body recovered in Narayanganj

Police recovered the body of a housewife from her house in Narayanganj's Sadar upazila this morning.

The deceased was identified as Rabeya Begum (35), wife of Sohel Ahmed Apu, a garment factory worker.

Police detained Sohel for interrogation.

Saiful Islam, sub-inspector of Fatullah Police Station, said that police -- upon being informed by locals -- rushed to the house and recovered Rabeya's body from the bedroom. Throat of the body was slit, the SI said.  

The body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.

Locals said Sohel used to live in the house with his wife and four children. However, he moved out months ago following domestic dispute.

Last night, he returned home. As he left the house in the morning, his children saw their mother's body and informed locals, police said.
