Man arrested for raping woman in Narsingdi

Rab today said they have arrested a man from Narsingdi on charges of raping a 22-year-old woman and threatening to circulate her video on social media.

The arrestee is Sagar Ahmed, 27, of Cumilla's Companyganj, Khandaker Md Mahbubur Rahman, camp commander of Rab-11 said in a press release today.

Sagar was arrested from Bouakur area of Narsingdi yesterday noon after the victim filed a rape case with Narsindi Sadar Police Station, our Narsingdi correspondent reports quoting the Rab official.

Quoting the case statement, Rab said Sagar met the woman on Facebook and developed a relationship. He raped her multiple times since January 11 this year promising to marry her and he filmed himself raping her. And then raped her after several times after blackmailing the victim.
