Man arrested for raping stepdaughter

A man was sent to jail by a Kishoreganj court yesterday for raping his stepdaughter in Bhairab upazila.

The 35-year-old arrestee is from Jamalpur village in Bhairab, police said.

The 17-year-old girl lodged a case with Bhairab Police Station on Tuesday, accusing her stepfather of raping her, and the police arrested him the same day, said Golam Mostafa, officer-in-charge of the station.

Quoting the case statement, the OC said on March 10, when the mother was not home, the arrestee raped the girl.
