Man arrested over rape, murder of 12-yr-old

Rab yesterday arrested a 49-year-old man in Manikganj in a case filed over the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl.

The arrestee is Md Alamgir Mia.

Rab-7 in a press release said a team arrested him from Manikganj, where he fled after committing the crime in Chattogram on March 13. The victim's family members filed a case with Halishahar Police Station the same day.

Alamgir forcibly took the victim, who was his neighbour, to his house and raped her Rab said. When she said she would tell her family, Alamgir strangled her to death and hid the body under the bed.
