Star Digital Report

Two persons were arrested in connection with a case filed for gang-raping a woman in a moving car in the capital's Uttara West area on Saturday night.

The arrestees are Hasan Sizan, 25, and Abu Raihan, 22. The duo are drivers by profession, Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Uttara West Police Station told The Daily Star.

The victim works at a beauty parlour in the capital.

The arrestees gave confessional statements before a court yesterday under Section 164.

On December 25, the victim, along with her friend, went to a building in Uttara Sector 7.

The accused--Sizan and Raihan-- along with two other companions, locked them inside the building and demanded money, the OC said.

They threatened to inform their parents that they were found in an objectionable condition if they did not pay them, added the OC.

When the victim's friend left the building to collect money, the four took the victim in a private car, roamed around different places in the city and raped her. Later, they dropped her off in the Uttara West area, he added.

Sizan and Raihan were arrested after raiding different places last night after a case was filed against them by the victim with Uttara West Police Station, the OC also said.

The accused are wanted in several cases, added the OC.
