Fraud Case: Arrest warrant against Evaly CEO, chairman

A Rangpur court issued an arrest warrant against Evaly chief executive officer Md Russell and chairman Shamima Nasrin, his wife, in a fraud case yesterday.

Amit Banik, a trader from Rangpur, filed the lawsuit against seven Evaly officials -- including the two -- with Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali Magistrate court.

In the case, he mentioned that he placed an online order to purchase various electronic items after December 5, 2020 from Evaly. He paid Tk 20.5 lakh against the order.

The items were supposed to be delivered within 45 days, which did not happen, he mentioned in the case statement. He also submitted the relevant papers in support of the transactions.

The court fixed the next hearing date of the case on June 12.
