Former cricketer Akram Khan’s house help found dead

Police have recovered the body of a domestic help of former national team cricketer Akram Khan from near his house in Dhaka's Mohakhali DOHS area.

The deceased was identified as Sahida Akter (22). She had been working at the house of Akram, director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, for about 12 years, police said.

On information, police recovered the body lying between two buildings around 11:00pm yesterday (August 28, 2022) and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kafrul Police Station.

Akram's family lived in a duplex flat on the fourth and fifth floor of the building and she was seen in the flat till 9:30pm.

Police are investigating how she fell from the building, the OC said.

A week ago, police recovered body of a house help of the chairman of the BCB's cricket operations committee, Jalal Yunus.
