Decapitated body of girl found in Moulvibazar

The decapitated body of an eight-year-old girl was recovered in Keshuluti of Moulvibazar's Kamalganj upazila on Wednesday night, nearly two hours after she had gone missing from near her home in the village.

Family members of the victim, Fatema Jannat Mou, a first grader of a local school, found the body in a hole at the back of their house, Mosharraf Hossain, inspector (investigation) of Kamalganj Shamshernagar police outpost, said, adding that stab marks were also spotted in the neck and abdomen.

A murder case was filed with Kamalganj Police Station yesterday, and the body was sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
