Cutting birthday cake with fugitive accused: Chakaria OC withdrawn

The officer-in-charge (OC) of Chakaria Police Station was withdrawn and attached to Cox's Bazar police lines on charge of celebrating his birthday with the fugitive accused of an attempted murder case.

The district administration withdrew OC Mohammad Osman Gani after a number of media, including The Daily Star, yesterday published photos, which show the police officer cutting his birthday cake with the fugitive accused inside the police station building.

Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police Md Hasanuzzaman told our staff correspondent around 3:15pm today that measures will be taken to conduct inquiry into the allegations brought against the OC.
