Clash with cops in Gazipur: 8 BNP men shown arrested
Eight BNP men were shown arrested today in a case filed over attacking policemen and vandalising vehicles during a clash in Gazipur city yesterday.
The BNP men were shown arrested after Sub-Inspector Sayedur Rahman Khan of Gazipur Sadar Police Station filed the case this morning, reports our local correspondent quoting Ziaul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police facility.
They were produced before a Gazipur court today and were sent to jail from there, said the OC.
BNP men locked into a clash with police yesterday during their procession at the court premises in Gazipur. The clash left several people including two police personnel injured.
Police charged batons and fired tear shells to bring the situation under control and detained 20 BNP men from the spot.
Of them, eight were shown arrested and the rest were released in the custody of their guardians as they were below 18 years old.
