Case filed against man for raping 19-yr-old in Bogura

A man has been charged with raping a 19-year-old college student in Bogura's Adamdighi upazila after drugging her.

The victim filed a rape case with Adamdighi Police Station this morning. The accused are Md Raj (21) and his aunt Etu Begum (25), reports our local correspondent.

They got into a relationship a year ago, according to the case statement. Raj recently invited the victim to visit him at Bogura's Santahar, promising marriage. On Thursday, when the victim arrived in Bogura from Noakhali, mixing drugs with her dinner, Raj took the victim to his aunt's house in Pannar mor area and raped her, according to the case statement.

Raj and his aunt took her to a nearby recreational park yesterday, where they gave her Tk 500 and threatened her to return home. They also assaulted her in the park, according to the statement.

Adamdighi Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Almas, said, "The victim is now in our custody. We took her to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogura for a medical checkup today. We'll produce her before a court tomorrow. Her relatives are already on their way."

Md Rakib Hossain, sub-inspector and investigation officer, said that Raj's father is a police constable who now works for the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
