BCL leader sues 41 BNP men in Munshiganj

A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League has filed a case against 41 BNP leaders and activists, and 250 unnamed people for "launching an attack on his party men" in Sreenagar upazila of Munshiganj yesterday (August 26, 2022).

SK Sourav, joint general secretary of Sreenagar Upazila unit of BCL, filed the case with local police station around 11pm yesterday, our local correspondent reports quoting Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Aminul Islam.

Hafizul Islam Khan, member secretary of Sreenagarupazila unit of BNP, has been made main accused in the case, the OC said.

However, no arrests were made in the case till 11:30pm yesterday.

"No complaint has been received from the BNP yet," the OC added.

Meanwhile, Hafizul Islam Khan said, "Chhatra League beat me up and made me accused in the case (over yesterday's incident) . Chhatra League and Jubo League celebrated after beating me. I am scared to go out of the house and go to the police station to file a complaint. I'm concerned about my security."
