Auto-rickshaw driver found dead

Police recovered the body of an auto-rickshaw driver from the side of a road at Sardi in Gazipur city yesterday morning.

Nurul Islam, aged around 35-40, was from Sherpur's Sadar upazila. He used to live in a rented house with his family members in Bau Bazar area.

Abu Siddiq, officer-in-charge of Basan Police Station, said informed by locals, police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police found stab marks on his body.

The OC said they suspect muggers might have hacked him to death in a bid to snatch his auto-rickshaw.
