459 Bangladeshis' properties in Dubai: HC orders to probe allegations
The High Court today directed the authorities concerned to conduct investigation into the allegations of purchasing properties by 459 Bangladeshi nationals in Dubai and suppressing information about those.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit, and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police have been directed to conduct the enquiry and to submit progress reports to the HC in 30 days.
The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat Lizu passed the order following a writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Subir Nandi Das seeking necessary directives on this issue.
He submitted the petition recently to the HC following a report published in the Bangla Daily Bonik Barta under the headline "Dubai E 459 Bangladeshir Hazar Property (459 Bangladeshis' thousand properties in Dubai)" on January 10.
