19-year-old killed for protesting eve-teasing in Brahmanbaria

A 19-year-old was stabbed to death allegedly by a youth for protesting eve-teasing in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria last evening.

The deceased was identified as Rafi Bhuiyan (19) of Ahammedpur village, said Sirajul Islam, additional superintendent (Nabinagar circle) of Brahmanbaria police, reports our local correspondent.

The incident happened on the Ahmedpur Government Primary School ground, said the additional SP.

A local youth Pradeep (20) along with another Shimul (20) used to make advances on a girl. Yesterday evening, four-five persons, including victim Rafi Bhuiyan, called Pradeep to the Ahmadpur Government Primary School ground to inquire in this regard.

During an altercation over the issue, when Pradeep wanted to leave, Rafi stopped him. At one stage, Pradeep stabbed Rafi with a knife in the chest and fled the scene.

Rafi was rushed to Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex where an on-duty doctor declared him dead, added the police official.
