Youth killed after truck hits bicycle in Savar

A youth was killed after a cement-laden truck hit his bicycle at Birulia in Dhaka's Savar today.

The deceased was identified as Hridoy (22) of Gaghasia village in Manikganj Sadar upazila. He worked at a factory at Birulia, reports our Savar correspondent quoting Sub-inspector Ahsan. of Savar Model Police Station

Police arrested truck driver Rezaul Karim (34) and his assistant Raju (25) and seized the truck after the accident, said the SI.

The accident truck rammed Hridoy's bicycle from behind, leaving him injured critically. Locals rescued him and took him to Enam Medical College Hospital where the on-duty declared him dead, added SI Ahsan.
