Two found dead

Two people were found dead in a house at Satanipara in Gazipur's Kaliganj upazila on Wednesday night.

The deceased are Hridoy Gomez (25) -- an NGO worker -- and Evana Rozario (22), of Bandakhola village. The young woman was a nursing student. Police suspect Hridoy killed Evana over some issue and stabbed himself to death afterwards.

Quoting Evana's father Shopon Rozario, SI of Kaliganj Police Station, Saiful Islam, said Evana and Hridoy were in a relationship. She went to Hridoy's house at his request on the day. He was alone at the time.

When Hridoy's mother returned home, she found the main door and windows of the house locked from inside. She also heard loud music blaring from inside, the SI said.Getting no response, she, along with neighbours, broke into the house through a window and found the two dead.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to a local hospital morgue, said the SI. There was strangulation mark around Evana's neck and the body also had several injury marks, he added.
