Sylhet-bound bus catches fire in Narayanganj

A bus caught fire on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Narayanganj's Rupganj upazila this afternoon.

The fire originated in the bus of "Sohag Paribahan" due to a technical fault, said Ataur Rahman, inspector of Rupganj Police Station.

The incident happened around 12:30pm while the bus was heading toward Sylhet from Dhaka.

However, no one was injured in the fire, the inspector told our Narayanganj correspondent.

The bus passengers said the bus carrying more than 50 passengers left Dhaka. When it reached Karnagop area, suddenly it caught fire.

All the passengers managed to get out of the bus safely before the fire could spread, they said.

The police official also said on information, a fire-fighting team factory rushed to the spot and doused the blaze, although the bus was burnt completely.
