Man dies in cylinder blast in Ctg shipbreaking yard

A man died when a gas cylinder exploded at a shipyard in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram this morning.

The incident took place at Mother Steel Shipyard, in Kumira area, around 10am, said Abdullah Al Sakib Mubarrat, deputy inspector general of Directorate for Inspection of Factory and Establishment, Chattogram.

The deceased was identified as Nazim Uddin (40). He was unloading cylinders from a truck when one of those went off -- leaving him dead on the spot, the DIG said.  

Alauddin Talukdar, assistant sub-inspector of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) outpost, said that a man was brought dead at CMCH with burn injuries around 12pm.
