Driver dies as trucks collide

A driver died and another was critically injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in ​​Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat yesterday morning.

On information, police recovered the body of truck driver Markes Ali (34) of Mirzapur area in Bagura's Sherpur upazila, said Officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station Golam Rasul.

Police also rescued the injured truck driver Farhad Hossain (33) of Jashore and sent him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, the OC said.

According to the police, Ali was returning from Burimari land port, while Farhad was heading towards the port when the two trucks collided in Kakina area on Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway around 8:00am.
