Chhatra Dal leader dies in motorcycle accident

A local Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader died today when a covered van drove into his motorcycle in Chatkhil upazila of Noakhali.

The deceased, Shihab Uddin Soron, 26, was a second year student of Bachelor of Business Administration at Noakhali Government College.

He was also assistant secretary of school affairs in the District Chhatra Dal unit, confirmed Ajgar Uddin Dukhu, president of Noakhali district unit of Chhatra Dal.

Harunur Rashid Bahar, chairman of Ramnarayanpur union in the upazila said the accident took place around 11:00am in Banglabazar area.

Soron died on the spot when the van rammed into his motorbike. Another person, who was with him, sustained injuries. They were heading to Sahapur from Sompara in the upazila when the incident occurred.

Chatkhil Police Station Inspector (investigation) Md Abu Jafar said locals seized the van after the accident. But the driver of the van managed to escape. "We will take action if we receive any complaint," added Md Abu Jafar.
