3 dead as bus overturns in Narayanganj

Three people died and 15 others injured after a bus carrying them overturned on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Narayanganj's Bandar upazila tonight.

One of the three deceased was identified as Russell. Identities of the rest could not be known immediately, reports our Narayanganj correspondent. 

Nawab Sirajuddoula, sub-inspector of Dhamgarh Police camp under Bandar upazila, said the Dhaka-bound bus of Naf Paribahan turned turtle on the road after hitting an excavator from behind in the Dewanbagh area around 8 pm.

The injured were taken to different hospitals, said the police official.

Quoting witnesses, SI Nawab Sirajuddoula further said most of the bus passengers were garment workers.
