3 college students dead as BRTC bus hits three wheeler in Chandpur

Three college students died and two were injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was hit by a BRTC bus at Chandpur's Kachua upazila today.

The deceased were identified as Urmi Mojumder (24), Mahbub Alam (24), and Saddam Hossain (23). The injured are Ibrahim (24) and auto-rickshaw driver Monir Hossain (35), reports our local correspondent quoting police.

Quoting locals and eyewitnesses, Kachua Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md Mohiuddin, said the accident took place in Karuia area of ​​Kachua upazila at 7am today.

A Dhaka-bound BRTC bus rammed an auto-rickshaw carrying four college students in the Karuia area. Three passengers died on the spot and the two injured have been admitted to Kachua Health Complex, the OC said.

Police were able to seize the bus but the driver fled, the OC added.
