2 motorcyclists killed in Thakurgaon, Panchagarh road accidents

Two motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents in Thakurgaon and Panchagarh.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Momin (32) of Dinajpur and Shahjahan (42) of Nilphamari.

Md Sarwar Hossain, station officer at fire service office in Thakurgaon, said Momin was heading towards Thakurgaon from Panchagarh with two others on pillion.

Around 3:00am today, Momin lost control and hit a tractor parked on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway at Bhulli village in Sadar upazila. Momin died on the spot.

The injured pillion passengers were taken to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital and later they were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital this morning.

Meanwhile, another motorcyclist Shahjahan was killed last night as a truck hit his motorbike on Panchagarh-Debiganj road at Banurhat village of Panchagarh.

Debiganj Police Station Officer-in-charge Md Zaman Hoosain said that Shahjahan was going to his house from Panchagarh on his motorbike around 7:30pm yesterday (April 7, 2022).

The truck driver could not be identified as he fled the scene, he added.
