2 killed, 1 hurt in road accidents

Two people were killed and another was injured in road accidents in two districts yesterday, report our local correspondents.

In Gopalganj, a truck driver was killed in a bus-truck collision in Sadar upazila of Gopalganj.

The accident happened on Dhaka-Khunla highway in Haridaspur bridge area, said police.

Sohag Mollah (35), son of Sohidul Mollah from Chandradigholia village in the upazila, was declared dead at Gopalganj General Hospital. In Dinajpur, a motorcyclist Moinul Islam (45) was killed and his pillion passenger Mina Khan hurt after a sand-laden tractor hit their motorcycle in Ghoraghat upazila.

Moinul was initially taken to Ghoraghat Upazila Health Complex. Later, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hosptial in Dinajpur, said police.
