2 friends crushed under truck in Bogura

Two friends died when a truck ran them over in Dupchachia Thana Bus Stand area in Bogura this morning.

The deceased were identified as Shakhawat Hossain Polash (48) of Khandar under Bogura Sadar upazila and his friend Soyeb Mahmud (42) of Alokdhia village under Sirajganj Sadar upazila.

Sub-inspector of Dupchachia Police Station Niaman Nasir said, "The deceased were friends and they were going to Naogaon's Porsha upazila from Bogura in the morning."

When they reached near Dupchachia Thana Bus Stand on Bogura-Naogaon road around 7am, a truck hit their motorcycle.

Both fell off the motorcycle and were crushed under the truck, the SI said.

Polash died on the spot and Soyeb succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, said the police officer.

Police are trying to identify the truck, the SI said, adding that the bodies have already been handed over to their family members.
