2 dead in Ctg road accidents
Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram today.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Latif (65), of Bhatiary union under Sitakunda upazila, and Mohammed Maruf (18), of Brahmanbaria, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station, said a motorcycle hit Latif around 11am while he was crossing the road in Bhatiary area.
He was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the OC said.
Meanwhile, an unidentified vehicle hit Maruf while he was walking by the road in Faujderhat area around 1:30pm, said Alauddin Talukder, assistant sub-inspector of CMCH Police outpost.
He was taken to CMCH where doctors declared him dead, said the SI.
Both the bodies were kept at the hospital morgue, added SI Alauddin.
