1 killed as pick-up van overturns in Rajbari
A pick-up van overturned on Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway in Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari today, leaving one person dead on the spot.
The deceased, Shaon Khan (42), was an employee of Anan Satlink, an internet service provider, and a resident of Rajbari municipality, reports our Faridpur correspondent quoting Jewel Rana, sub-inspector of Pangsha Highway Police.
"There were four passengers on the pick-up truck who were on their way from Rajbari Sadar to Pangsha. The driver lost control of the steering wheel near Kalukhali Fire Service Station and the pick-up overturned and skidded off the road," the SI.
"Shaon, who was at the back of the pick-up, was thrown off the vehicle and hit a roadside tree, and died on the spot," the SI said.
"On information, police went to the spot and recovered the vehicle," he added.
Contacted, Uzzal Kumar Biswas, proprietor of Anan Satlink, said Shaon and three other staff were on their way to repair a damaged internet connection between Mrigee union and Majhbari union in the morning after it was snapped las night around 11pm.
