Policeman closed for violating traffic rule

Sub-inspector Md Mokarram Hossain of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station was closed and attached to Sirajganj Police Lines on Sunday night for violating traffic rules.

He was on duty at the time, our Pabna correspondent reports, quoting police.

Tutul Chakrabarti, superintendent of police in Sirajganj, said SI Mokarram was driving motorbike without wearing a helmet on Sunday when the district police administration was observing Traffic Week.

He said the district police administration has ordered all policemen to carry their driving licences and vehicle papers, and follow traffic rules.

“If a policeman does not follow traffic rules, how will he enforce law for others?” Tutul asked.
