6 die as truck hits tempo in Mymensingh
At least six people were killed and 10 injured Friday evening when a truck rammed into a tempo in the Sadar upazila of Mymensingh.
Of the victims, two were identified as Abdur Rahim, 50, and Azaharul Islam, 30, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.
The accident happened when a speeding truck hit a tempo in the town around 7:45pm, said Golam Sarwar, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
The official said four tempo passengers died on the spot while 12 others were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where two of them succumbed to their injuries.
Police seized the truck though the driver managed to flee.
The bodies were sent to MMCH morgue for autopsy.
A case has been lodged with the Kotwali Police Station.
