5 schoolgirls missing in Pabna boat capsize

Five schoolgirls remain missing after a boat capsized in Padma river in Pabna Sadar upazila Monday morning. The boat carrying 10 students of Bhaduriadangi Govt Primary School capsized in the mid river around 10:30am, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting Abdur Razzak, a teacher of the school. The accident took place when the students of class IV and V were going to collect their stipend at Khulchori from Bhaduriadangi village. Five of them managed to swim ashore while Dulu Khatun, Rahima, Moyna, Champa and Sharmin went missing. The missing girls could not be recovered till 2:00pm when the report was filed.
