5 of a family die in Moulvibazar road crash
Five members of a family were killed and two others injured as a bus collided head-on with a three-wheeler in Moulvibazar Sadar upazila on Sunday.
The accident took place in Kajirbazar area around 1:00pm, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.
All of the five travelling in the CNG-run auto-rickshaw died on the spot. The injured were also passengers of the three-wheeler.
The deceased were identified as Solaiman Miah, 62, his brother Jahaj Miah, 45, their father father Chobor Ali, 70, Solaiman's sons Hadis Miah, 35, and Rafiq Miah, 40. Rafiq was driving the vehicle.
Hadis Miah’s wife Sirajunnacha, 26, and his uncle Koresh Miah, 50, were rushed to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital.
Talking to The Daily Star, Md Azizur Rahman, office-in-charge of Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station, blamed the negligence of the drivers for the accident.
